John P. Gardella graduated from Vanderbilt University magna cum laude in 2000 with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Japanese, whereupon he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Mr. Gardella received his Juris Doctor from the Vanderbilt University Law School in 2003 after serving as Associate Editor of the Vanderbilt Transnational Law Journal and working for indigent clients through the Vanderbilt Legal Aid Clinic. Upon graduating he worked for the State of Tennessee, Division of Children’s Services, where he represented the State in matters involving child abuse, neglect and custody, until 2005. In this position, he litigated hundreds of cases, completing approximately seventy trials and conducting numerous depositions of expert witnesses. In 2005, Mr. Gardella accepted a one year clerkship position with the Trial Court of Massachusetts, Juvenile Division, where he assisted Justices with legal research and preparing Court Orders for both civil and criminal matters. At Governo Law Firm LLC, Mr. Gardella specializes in toxic tort and products liability litigation and is involved in selected pro bono work. He is admitted to practice in the Massachusetts State and Federal Courts and Tennessee.
