Brendan J. Gaughan graduated from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College in 1996 with a B.S. in Marketing. Mr. Gaughan received his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 2000. While at Suffolk University Law School, Mr. Gaughan served as a staff writer and as an associate editor of the Suffolk Transnational Law Review. Mr. Gaughan began his legal career at Boyle Morrissey & Campo, P.C., a Boston insurance defense firm where he specialized in the defense of products liability claims and construction site accidents. After leaving that firm in 2003, Mr. Gaughan went to work for Kushner & Marano, P.C. as a litigator specializing in a wide variety of insurance defense matters, becoming a partner in 2006. During his tenure at Kushner & Marano, P.C., Mr. Gaughan successfully tried dozens of cases in the District and Superior Courts of Massachusetts. Since joining Governo Law Firm, his practice has involved general litigation, construction disputes, and toxic torts. In 2008, he successfully defended a national manufacturer of building materials after a three week jury trial in an asbestos personal injury case in Massachusetts, only the second asbestos case in Massachusetts to be tried to verdict in the last ten years.
