Bryna Rosen Misiura graduated from University of Virginia School of Law in 1992, after having served as the Research & Projects Editor of the Virginia Environmental Law Journal and an Articles Editor on the Virginia Tax Review. She was admitted to the Massachusetts bar in 1992 and the District of Columbia bar in 1995. Between 1992 and 1997, she was an associate at Tucker & Goldstein, a boutique law firm specializing in the nationwide defense of complex toxic tort litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of asbestos product liability claims. She also represented defendants in medical malpractice, railroad and FELA cases. In 1997, Ms. Misiura began working for John Hancock Financial Services, Inc., where she independently arbitrated and negotiated hundreds of claims in a nationwide class action lawsuit arising out of insurance industry sales practices. In addition, she managed all block settlement efforts of the Arbitration Unit, including the on-going assessment of risk and exposure/liability in a group of 5,500 claims, the development of a database to study settlement trends, and the improvement of unit-wide settlement criteria. For the past fourteen years, Ms. Misiura has been an adjunct professor in the ABA-approved Paralegal Program at Northern Essex Community College, teaching courses such as Tort Law and Litigation.
