Jeniffer A.P. Carson is a Partner at Governo Law Firm LLC.  Ms. Carson has broad background in insurance defense, toxic torts, product liability, contracts, alternative dispute resolution, arbitration, class actions, legislation and non-profit organizations.  Since joining the Firm in 2000, Ms. Carson has specialized in asbestos litigation, insurance defense, toxic torts, and product liability.  Ms. Carson currently represents over 50 companies in asbestos litigation in cases throughout New England acting as local, regional, and national counsel.  The firm’s clients include manufacturers, distributors and installers of asbestos products, as well as premises owners and contractors.  Ms. Carson has served as trial counsel for several asbestos cases and has negotiated the successful resolution of hundreds of asbestos claims.  In 2006, Ms. Carson was one of only five attorneys appointed to the Defendants’ Executive Committee for the Massachusetts Asbestos Litigation.

Ms. Carson has been named a Massachusetts Rising Star Super Lawyer for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.  Ms. Carson has been designated in the practice area of Class Action/Mass Torts.  Considered among the best in their profession, only 2.5% of the attorneys in Massachusetts are selected as Rising Stars Super Lawyers.  Massachusetts Super Lawyers are selected by their peers in an extensive nomination and polling process.

Ms. Carson has been selected by Marquis for inclusion in the Who's Who in American Law 2009-2010 edition.  This publication chronicles the country's most distinguished legal professionals who have made significant contributions to the advancement, understanding, and appreciation of the legal profession.  Additionally, the Class Action Administration, Inc. (CAA) selected Ms. Carson as a Super Lawyer for 2007. 

Ms. Carson began practicing as an arbitration attorney, representing John Hancock Financial Services in a nationwide class action, defending hundreds of cases through preliminary hearing and binding arbitration.  As a law clerk at Latronico & Whitestone, she negotiated settlements on behalf of Liberty Mutual, participated in depositions, and assisted a Senior Partner in an appellate brief to recoup sanction monies in a worker's compensation case before the Board of Industrial Accidents.

Prior to her career as an attorney, Ms. Carson was the Acting Associate Director of the Corporate Training & Consulting Department of Suffolk University, a start-up division that utilized professor’s expertise to supply consulting services to large corporations.  Ms. Carson advised the Vice President and Director on all terms of business contracts, liability and marketing strategies, and collaborated on product creation and consulting services.

Ms. Carson has over twenty years of public speaking experience.  In 2003, Ms. Carson was asked to speak on Director’s and Officer's Liability Insurance at an Insurance Liability conference sponsored by Sterling Education Services LLC.  She was the student keynote speaker for Suffolk University from 1993 to 1995 and has given dozens of presentations for non-profit organizations since 1990.

Ms. Carson also has twenty years of experience working for non-profit organizations and has served on Parish Council and was the former Chairman of the Strategic Planning Fundraising Committee for her church, which is one of the largest Armenian parishes in the United States.
