Mr. Gardella Judges Yale Mock Trial Competition

12/12/2013

Governo Law Firm recognizes the importance of giving back to the community, especially in assisting law students or those interested in the legal profession with cultivating their interest in the legal field. As part of our commitment to partner with the legal community, Attorney John Gardella of Governo Law Firm recently acted as a judge in the 2013 Yale Mock Trial Competition in New Haven, Connecticut. This marks the third consecutive year that John was invited to and participated in the tournament as a judge.

The Yale Mock Trial Competition is in its 18th year and provides students from universities across the nation the opportunity to compete in a courtroom setting and improve their courtroom and oral argument skills before a panel of three or four judges. Although the case type varies between civil and criminal from year to year, the opportunities afforded to the students are invaluable regardless of the type of case that they are tasked to present. For some students, the Yale Mock Trial Competition is the first time presenting a case or arguing in a simulated courtroom setting.

Governo Law Firm has a long and proud history of supporting and giving back to the communities from which their attorneys came. As a law student, John participated in similar mock trial competitions and currently uses the skills that he learned over ten years ago to represent the interests of Governo Law Firm's clients at depositions, courtroom hearings, mediations, and other proceedings in complex civil litigation throughout New England.
