National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week – October 19 - 25, 2014

This year's National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week theme, "Lead-Free Kids for a Healthy Future," will focus on the importance of the many ways parents can reduce a child's exposure to lead and prevent its serious health effects. Visit http://www2.epa.gov/lead to learn about initiatives, programs and lead education for consumers and environmental health and safety professionals. Governo Law Firm has counseled clients about lead and has defended lead poisoning litigation for over 25 years, during which time the incidence of childhood lead poisoning has declined dramatically. Similar to many naturally-occurring and commonly used toxic substances, such as asbestos, benzene, mercury, etc., the current regulatory scheme is only effective if it is followed and it can only be followed if it is understood. Join us in spreading the word that the awareness of potential hazards is the first crucial step in avoiding harm and liability. If you would like any additional information, please contact David Governo at dgoverno@governo.com.
