Mark J. Hoover has over 20 years of experience in the areas of products liability, asbestos, toxic tort and insurance defense.  Mark has defended hundreds of cases for multi-national corporations, local companies and individuals during his career.  Mark has served as local, regional and national counsel for many corporate clients.  He worked closely with both in-house counsel as well as local counsel across the country and in Europe in defending a broad range of complex claims. 

Prior to joining the Governo Law Firm, Mark practiced with a Boston law firm specializing in product liability and toxic tort defense.  He has tried cases in both federal and states courts in many jurisdictions, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, Georgia and Florida.  Mark has also given continuing legal education presentations at the ABA Emerging Issues in Motor Vehicle Product Liability Litigation Conference and has attended the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Trial Academy.

Mark graduated from Boston College Law School in 1993.  He received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Marietta College in 1987.  Mark is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine.  He is also admitted to the federal courts of Vermont and the Northern District of Florida as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Mark is a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and a member of the James D. St. Clair Court Education program where he serves as a docent at the U.S. Federal Court in Massachusetts.
